Dog Training Philosophy
Joanna Owner and Operator of FLOPPS is an experienced dog trainer who is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer CPDT-KA, ABCDT and has her CPR and Pet First Aid and teaches you how to get the best out of your dog by giving you the tools to help achieve your goals. To have the CPDT-KA designation from the CCPDT is a mark of high professionalism. In order to achieve her CPDT-KA credentials she needed to pass an intense and lengthy exam and show that she's mastered humane, science-based dog training practices. Joanna uses force free dog training techniques along with scientifically proven dog training methods, employing reward, praise and play to let a dog know when he’s doing something right and redirect him when he get’s it wrong to guide and teach him how to do it right. Helping people with their dogs is Joanna's passion. She keeps her skills sharp staying abreast of the latest in dog training by studying leaders in the dog training world. Joanna has first hand experience training reactive dogs. Her dog Bear started out as a dog that was reactive towards people and she understands the difficulty of trying to manage a fearful dog that lunges and barks at people. After dedicating a lot of time training she has helped him work through his issues and fears building his confidence so he could pass his Canine Good Neighbour CKC test!
